The historic Inman Hotel has been a staple of Champaign since its construction in 1915, bringing beauty and luxury unknown to the area until then. Over the years it has struggled to regain its previous glory, undergoing numerous failed attempts to repurpose the building. It often sat vacant and in a general state of disarray. In 2022 Omni Development, in conjunction with local developer Royse & Brinkmeyer, purchased the property with the intent of breathing life into the historic building and surrounding area. The plan is to convert its previous struggling model by renovating the building to provide 60 top-of-the-line homes with an additional 8,000 sf of commercial/retail on the ground floor. The renovation and stabilization are expected to be completed in 2024.
